and will remain so. with americans disenchanted by obama care and a bad economy, it would seem the republicans would have some momentum, but they don't. because there is not one clear message. and even on philosophy, political philosophy, the party is deeply divided. it will take a leader like ronald reagan to help heal that breach. now, if you look at the situation nationwide, it's clear the democrats are going to campaign largely in poor and working class precincts. today fast food workers across the country demonstrated for a $15 an hour wage. that has been endorsed by president obama and most every other democrat. the so-called living wage issue will be a democratic hallmark next year. of course, if you give fast food workers a minimum of 15 bucks an hour, fast food prices go up for everybody. so, americans will pay more. that is a primary consideration in the debate. talking points believes the republican party must drop ideology almost entirely and concentrate on the economy and putting forth a healthcare plan that makes sense. everything else really doesn't matter. it's all about wages,

bugs, crashes and glitches, the obama administration says the site where americans are supposed to shop for insurance can now handle up to 50,000 visitors at a time but critics, including some insurers say the fixes don't mean the site gets a clean bill of health. our chief white house correspondent ed henry joins us with more. what problems still remain for the president and his signature law? >> bottom line is the insurance companies are saying it's nice that the website deadline was -- appears to have been met in terms of getting things working more smoothly but the insurance companies believe the real deadline is about 30 days from now beginning of january when, you know, folks who enroll are actually going to be needing to move forward with the insurance and there are still problems with the so-called back end of the website in terms of getting people through the checkout line and connecting them to insurance companies. so there's still a lot more work to do even though advisers to the white house, outside advise ires are insisting they basically turned the corner. >> i think actua

. first from the news difficult. the obama administration officials saying dramatic improvements to healthcare.gov. the web site for millions of americans to sign on for the belt -- benefits but the site is still far from 100%. the white house says computer programmers have been working nonstop since the launch in october. they were trying to meet the president's december 1st december 1st deadline to get the site up to speed. officials said they met the goal and the system can now handle 50,000 users at one time with an error rate of less than 1%. but our news deck team ran into problems. we got what appeared to be a blank screen with a web site logo, win we scrolled to the bob of the page we got this message. the web site is overloaded. you have to wait. the white house says 375,000 or so people went to health care.gov just before non. officials admit there's work to do. >> the president believes the site has been significantly improved, and that the teams in place have worked 24/7 for weeks now to make those improvements, including significant improvements made over the weekend
